The 2026 Koreanet Honorary Reporter program brings together people from around the world to share works on Korea through writing, art/illustration, and video. Recruitment for the 2026 program ran from April 6th to April 22nd 2026, and the selected members were announced on 30th of April 2026. In this article, 5 HRs were interviewed from across 4 language sections of the Koreanet program, via email and WhatsApp from April 24th to May 3rd 2026 to better understand their Honorary reporter journey and their motivation for applying for the 2026 HR program. These 5 people were selected because of their consistent indepth writing across the different language sections.
First is Nathalie Fisz from the French Section, Alaa Atef from the Arabic section, Nsikak Ekere from the English language section, Maulia Resta from Indonesia section and Audrey Boois, from the English language section. They all shared their motivation for applying for Koreanet Honorary reporter program for 2026, and they also shared what they look forward to.

Nsikak Ekere, is delighted to be part of the HR system, and the Koreanet program makes him inspired by the multicultural cooperation and the emerging trends in Korea. Thus, writing some of the world’s best stories to drive peace, sustainability, and cultural diplomacy through the Korea.net platform has become a way of life for him.
Maulia Resta from Indonesia reapplied for the 2026 Honorary Reporter programs because she thinks that there is no other program that is compatible with her interest and hobby like this, to her, Honorary Reporter is also a community to get connected to other members from various countries who have similar interest in Korean culture. For 2026, she looks forward to the kind of missions and workshops that will be offered by this program.
To Audrey Boois, the HR program provides the opportunity to grow her writing skills, interview inspiring individuals, and represent Korean culture to a global audience. Her motivation for reapplying in 2026 is her genuine passion for cultural exchange, and meaningful communication and she looks forward to the 2026 HR program to creating even more impactful articles, meeting inspiring people and discovering new aspects of Korean culture

Nathalie Fisz who is a HR for the French language section shares her motivation and what she looks forward to
1. Please Kindly introduce yourself?
My name is Nathalie Fisz. I currently live in the Paris region and work for a French digital marketing company.
I have one daughter and two granddaughters who now live in Daegu, South Korea.
2. How long have you been a HR ?
I have been an honorary journalist for korea.net since 2020. I learned about the program through the Korean cultural center in Paris. I am also a member of the board of directors of the first French association of adopted Koreans. This association is called
3. What is your motivation and reason for reapplying for 2026 ?
Writing for Korea Net is an honor and a true pleasure. Writing provides an escape and allows me to continue discovering Korean culture. Furthermore, I can stay in touch with my friends around the world.
4. What do you look forward to 2026 HR program ?
This year we’re celebrating 140 years of friendship between Korea and France, so it’s really up to me to suggest some nice articles for korea.net. And otherwise, I want to stay in touch with my friends, as always.
5. One of your favourite article written as a HR ?
I love all the articles I’ve written without exception, and I perhaps have a particular fondness for the one that recounts my secretly planned trip to visit my daughter in Korea.

Alaa Atef, is a HR for the Arabic language section shares her motivation and what she looks forward to
1. Please Kindly introduce yourself?
My name is Alaa Atef, I am 29 years old, a clinical oncology resident and physician based in Egypt. I joined the Honorary Reporter program in 2020, and since then it has become a very important part of my life both personally and professionally.
2.How long have you been a HR ?
I have been an HR for 6 years now. I have always loved both Korea and writing, so the program gave me the perfect chance to combine both passions. I was honored to be selected as Best HR in 2021, 2022, and 2023, and I received the Golden Button three times, and I was also interviewed on KBS Radio in 2022, arirang tv news show ‘within frame’ in 2024 about my experience as an Honorary Reporter.
3. What is your motivation and reason for reapplying for 2026 ?
My motivation for reapplying for the 2026 HR program is simple: this program has become a meaningful part of my journey. I have been a fan of Korea.net since 2014, even before joining HR. Reading other HRs’ articles always inspired me and helped me learn more about Korea. Being selected by KOCIS to visit Korea in 2021 and again in 2023 were among the most precious experiences in my life. These opportunities made me feel even more connected to Korean culture and more grateful to be part of this wonderful community. They motivated me to work harder, write more, and represent Korea with sincerity and passion.
4. What do you look forward to in the 2026 HR program ?
For 2026, I look forward to continuing this journey for a longer time, improving my content quality, writing more meaningful articles, and becoming even more active in the HR community. I hope to keep sharing positive stories about Korea and inspire others just as previous HRs inspired me. I believe there is still much more I can do through my love for Korean culture and through the HR program.

Nsikak Ekere, is a HR for the English language section shares her motivation and what he looks forward to
I am Nsikak Ekere, a Korea.net honorary reporter from Nigeria with 5+ years of experience leading strategic engagements that strengthen cordial relations and bilateral trade between Nigeria and Korea. I have been delighted to be part of the HR system for over 5 years. Each time, I am inspired by the multicultural cooperation and the emerging trends in Korea.
For me, writing some of the world’s best stories to drive peace, sustainability, and cultural diplomacy through the Korea.net platform has become a way of life, and I keep inspiring others while maintaining balance.

Maulia Resta, is a HR for the Indonesian language section shares her motivation and what she looks forward to
1. Please Kindly introduce yourself?
I am Maulia Resta from Indonesia. I have been a member of Honorary Reporter since 2021.
2.How long have you been a HR ?
My interest to Korean culture that started since 2010 is always be my biggest motivation to be an Honorary Reporter. Even before joining the program, I really love to write some reviews about Korean dramas and Korean books in my personal blog.
3. What is your motivation and reason for reapplying for 2026 ?
This year, I reapplied for the 2026 Honorary Reporter programs because I think that there is no other program that is compatible with my interest and hobby like this. At first, you might think that Honorary Reporter is just a place to write about your day about Korean culture or anything related to Korea in your life, but as I participated in this program for years, I realized that Honorary Reporter is also a community to get connected to other members from various countries who have similar interest in Korean culture like you, a place that will make you learn that Korean culture is beyond K-pop and K-dramas, a program that will help you
improve your skills on writing articles and even take a good photos through its’ workshops, etc. Honorary Reporter is not only about writing your story, but also sharing it to the world.
4. What do you look forward to in the 2026 HR program ?
Each year, I look forward to what kind of missions and workshops that will be offered by this program. I am very excited to learn something new as Honorary Reporter.

5. One of your favourite article written as a HR ?
Since 2021, I wrote so many articles, and I really love all my writings as its’ shows my perspective and experiences on Korean culture in Indonesia. But, in 2025, I realized I wrote many articles related to exhibitions. And these are my favorite articles in 2025 related to exhibition,

Jongmyo Jeryeak Exhibition Brings Korean Cultural Traditions to Life Through Joseon Dynasty Court Music (http://indonesian.korea.net/NewsFocus/HonoraryReporters/view?articleId=271246) I really enjoy covering the Jongmyo Jeryeak exhibition because it not only introduced me to the culture of Jongmyo Jeryeak itself, but also showcased the collaboration between Korean culture and Indonesian society in presenting traditional Korean dance performances.

Appreciating the Works of Korean Artist Iurum in a Solo Exhibition in Jakarta (http://indonesian.korea.net/NewsFocus/HonoraryReporters/view?articleId=274931) -_ I have admired the works of artist Iurum for a long time, so when she held an exhibition in Jakarta, where I live, I was thrilled to see her works in person and to write an article about her beautiful works.
