GLOBAL KOREAN ESSAY CONTEST HAPPENING IN JUNE 2025

The month of June 2025, have several Global essay contest organised by the different organisations, if you think you can write, or if you know someone who can, make sure to share this with them.

  1. The Understanding Korean Contest 2025

The Understanding Korea Contest 2025 is Hosted by the Center for International Affair at AKS, The Understanding Korea Project aims to rectify misconceptions and enhance the quality of content about Korea in international textbooks.

1. Date: June 1-July 31

2. Eligibility: Foreigners, Koreans living abroad

3. Submission: Submit via the official website of the Academy of Korean Studies

○ Language: Korean or English

○ Essay Length: Approximately 3 pages in A4 format

Applications submitted after the deadline (Korea Standard Time) will not be considered for evaluation.

2. Korea Centre in India and UniKorea Foundation essay contest

 The Korea Centre, in collaboration with the UniKorea Foundation, is delighted to announce the Essay Competition 2025. This competition is open to students across India, offering a platform to showcase their analytical and creative skills while exploring themes related to Korea.

Essay Themes

Category 1: School Level (14-18 years)

Theme: “The Korean Wave: How Korea Inspires You”

  • Word Limit: 1500 words

Category 2: Undergraduate/Postgraduate Level (18-24 years)

Theme: “Bridging Cultures and Ideas: What Can India Learn from Korea?”

* Participants must submit proof of enrollment from their institution.

Essay Submission Guidelines 

  • Language: Essays must be written in English.
  • Essays must be submitted by June 30, 2025.
  • Submission should be made on the Korea Centre Website  (Submission link will be available on this page from early May  to June 30, 2025)

General Formatting:

  • Typed: Essays must be typed, not handwritten.
  • File Format: Essays must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • Style: Times New Roman, font size 12 point, Double-spaced, Standard margins

3.Korean Dream Writing Contest Submission Form

The Korean Dream Writing Contest invites participants to explore the vision of a unified, peaceful Korea, inspired by the principle of Hongik Ingan, which emphasizes living for the greater benefit of humanity. Writers are encouraged to share their perspectives on any of the themes.

Submissions (1000–1500 words) should be written in an opinion editorial or essay format. Winning entries may be published on UPI and Global Peace Foundation platforms to highlight voices for peace and re-unification.

All submissions must be received by 11:59 PM (EST) on Friday, August 15, 2025. The winner will be announced on Monday, September 15, 2025.

Award Details

  • First Place: $1,000
  • Second Place: $600
  • Third Place: $300
  • Creative Idea Award: $200 (For an innovative and unique perspective)
  • Pragmatic Solution Award: $200 (For a most feasible and realistic plan)
  • Inspirational Narrative Award: $200 (For a powerful and compelling story)

4. 2025 Human Asia English Essay Contest

The topic of the 2025 English Essay Contest is ‘Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights in Asia’. Asia has a wide range of aspects, including different economic development levels, political systems, social structures, and cultural backgrounds.
