Around the world, February 14 is celebrated as Valentine’s Day, and in Korea, Valentine is an important romantic holiday. It is a time where gifts and chocolate are shared between lovers and loved ones. In Korea there is a bit of a twist in the gift sharing which you would see in this post.

One thing i found out is that in Korea we have different days to celebrate Valentine and love . Infact there are 12 different days to celebrate Valentine in Korea such as pepero day in November 11, there is the Valentine’s Day called “love days” celebrated on the 14th of every month in Korea. These days range from the popular White Day which is March 14th or (Black Day which is April 14th to January 14th which is diary day and June 14th which is kiss day, May 14th is rose day , there is also the Hug Day etc. the List continues.

HOW IS FEBRUARY 14 VALENTINES DAY CELEBRATED IN KOREA

Around the world February 14th which is recognised as Valentine’s Day is celebrated with the exchange of gifts between friends and loved ones but in Korea, there is a little twist as in Korea only the women give chocolate to the men.

It is important to note that Valentine’s Day is not a public holiday in Korea and during this days, daily activities goes on, people going to work and students going to school. One of the fun thing about this day is that convenience stores , marts and super markets have different types of chocolate and gifts packages displayed for purchase. On Valentine day, couples go on dates and it is a happy day for couple and not singles , that is why singles are allowed to have theirs on April 14th. Sometimes the women are moved to make the chocolate by themselves

5 WAYS TO CELEBRATE VALENTINES DAY WITH A KOREAN LOVER

1. WATCH KDRAMA WITH THE KOREAN LOVER

A way you can spend Valentine with a Korean Lover is to watch korean drama or movie with them, this is a form of quality time .

2. BUY KOREAN CURATED GIFT , CHOCOLATE AND STUFF

3. GO TO KOREAN RESTAURANT OR GO TO A KOREAN STORE TO SHOP

One of the most beautiful thing you can do is take a korean lover Shopping or to a Korean restaurant and give them the opportunity to spend as much as they want on Korean food, korean skincare, kpop, and live a life as a Korean that day

4. GO FOR A KPOP EVENT

There is always a kpop event somewhere, find out one that is happening around you and take Ty our love there

5. VISIT A KOREAN CULTURAL CENTER OR A KOREAN MUSEUM/ LIBRARY OR INSTITUTE IN YOUR COUNTRY

This might be a bit serious, but it can also be fun as there would be Korean exhibitions , Kpop zones , korean inspired places and stuff to look at . The hubs of Korean culture on your country.
