Jang Uk arrives at the gambling den to save Seo Yul, only to see him lose consciousness, causing him to become enraged. He wields his sword and dispatches the soldiers with ease, holding Yeom-su up by the throat and learning about the blood parasite.
Jang Uk kills all of the Cheonbugwan mages present and takes Seo Yul to Sejukwon for treatment. When he realizes there is no way to save Seo Yul, he rushes into Cheonbugwan to find Jin Mu, with Songrim siding with him. The royal family, on the other hand, is unable to target Jang Uk for this because they have a bigger problem ahead of them, Seo Yul’s father.
Jin Mu orders all the mages in Cheonbugwan to stop Jang Uk, but this has no effect because Jang Uk is unstoppable. The crown prince arrives and reminds him of why he has been silent for three years; Park Jin then arrives with the mages from Songrim and supports Jang Uk’s decision.
Jang Uk finally stops, but only in exchange for Jin Mu being brought in front of him. The crown prince then informs Jin Mu of Jang Uk’s request and orders him to find a cure for Seo Yul in order to save his life
Jin Mu quickly realizes that there is no other option but to ask Jin Ho-kyung for assistance, so he bows down in front of her and begs for assistance. However, Jin Ho-kyung refuses to save Seo Yul until the King himself orders her to do so.
Jin-mu apologizes for Yul’s problems, persuading Ho-gyeong to join him (or suffer sharing the pair of their downfalls together). Although she was initially hesitant to assist, Jin-cunning mu’s ways persuaded her otherwise. Yul’s life is in jeopardy, and with a potential cure on the horizon, Jang-uk departs, but also promises that Jin-mu will die if Yul dies.
Ho-gyeong, on the other hand, has a condition. She’ll assist on the condition that Bu yeon be returned to her. Park-jin, who is also a witness, signs this verbal agreement. The key is this fire bird, which Jang-uk and the Prince will face together as they enter Jinyowon, using its energy to eventually remove the blood parasite. But first, he informs Bu-yeon of the bad news. She agrees, but says she’s doing it for Yul, not Jang-uk.
There are two issues: moving the bird or Yul, and breaking the barrier encasing the bird. Heo devises the plan of extracting the blood parasite and mistaking Cho- yeon’s core energy for Yul’s. Given Dang-gu and Cho-night yeon’s together at the house, they try to come up with an alternate vessel.
Instead, Bu-yeon accepts this task and is eager to assist in the rescue of Seo Yul. The only thing left in this plan is to collect enough gold to widen the barrier, but when Jang Uk shows them the gold he has saved over the last three years, Heo Yeom tells them that they can start the plan.He pours all of Seo Yul’s remaining energy into the water wick and hands it to Bu-yeon to carry in her mouth before rushing to Jinyowon with Jang Uk. There, she encounters the crown prince and is taken aback by his true identity, as is Go Won.
He realizes she has been complaining about Jang Uk the entire time, while Jang Uk discovers he is the eunuch Bu-yeon had requested to save the turtle. Later, Jang Uk can’t help but be jealous of the two’s conversation, but they soon succeed in getting the bloddworm out of Bu-yeon.
They then rush back to Sejukwon, she immediately inserts the water wisk into Seo Yul’s mouth, saving his life. As they all rejoice, Jang Uk in
and Bu-yeon quickly realize that they must part ways. Jang Uk discovers that Bu-yeon was aware of the agreement between himself and Ho-kyung.
He compared her to a brazier in the summer (basically useless), and the two parted ways. Jang-uk, despite putting on a brave face, is still worried about her, wondering if Ho-gyeong will put the tracking thread back in her again.
Yul recovers from his blood parasite ordeal, but he remains frail. Yul, on the other hand, is more interested in Bu-yeon and her ties to Naksu, questioning Master Lee Cheol about his time with Mu-deok.
Jang-uk decides to go find her as the Lantern continues to flicker on and off. Bu-yeon casually tells him to throw it out, but he refuses, mentioning how he’s fine when the lantern is turned on. When it’s turned off, he loses his mind and finds himself pining for her. Bu-yeon admits that she has decided to turn off the lantern herself, prompting the pair to kiss passionately as the episode concludes.
Episode 8
Uk and Bu-yeon continue to kiss in Episode 8. Jang-uk thanks her and decides to try to back out of their promise, hoping for Ho gyeong’s blessing He promises to be a good man to her and decides to commit to marriage.
The question is whether Ho-gyeong will agree to all of this. As the season progressed, the pair developed a chilly relationship.
Jang-uk mentions how he broke into Jinyowon previously, with a doorway opening off the back of that soul-shifter fighter. As they part ways, he promises to go see her, sneaking in at night. However, as they say their goodbyes, more of Mu-memories deok’s emerge.
Seo Yul tells everyone that he is ready to accept responsibility for what has happened and will allow Jang Uk and Ho-promise kyung’s to be broken. This news spreads quickly, and Jang Uk is pleased with what Seo Yul has promised, while Bu-yeon goes to meet her. Seo Yul’s behavior, on the other hand, surprises her when he tells her that staying with Jang Uk will only cause the two of them pain. He tells her that going to Danhyanggok will bring back memories she has forgotten and will make her understand why she must avoid Jang Uk. Bu-yeon is determined not to go there or try to reclaim her memories after hearing this.
He invites her to Danhyanggok, but she declines; finally, he tells her to wait for him to return, which reassures her. In other news, Heo Yoon-ok discovers the medicine that can reveal the marks of a soul shifter and is ready to confront Bu-yeon with her truth.
Seo Yul confronts Ho-kyung, informing her that he is aware of Bu-true yeon’s identity. He begs her to keep Bu-yeon free as long as possible because Naksu’s soul will soon vanish and the true Jin Bu-yeon will take over her body. This surprises Ho-kyung because master Lee had kept this from her; now that she knows, she is ready to comply with Seo Yul’s request.
Yun-ok splashes the special liquid on Bu-yeon in the woods, and her eyes turn blue. She walks away by herself and notices her reflection in the water. As a result, she has visions of Mu-deok on that fateful last night before she drowns in the lake. Yul, on the other hand, chastises Yun-ok and accuses her of stealing his letter.
Bu-yeon eventually arrives to see the infamous tree, where more memories of the past emerge. It all comes back to her one by one as she eventually sees a younger Bu-yeon, the true owner of the body. She mentions that Naksu must leave this body soon . When Bu-yeon returns to the palace, she tells Jang-uk that she saw who she is and what happened to her. She’s recollected enough of Mu-past deok’s to piece together his story.
She decides to leave Jang-uk because she feels too guilty to stay. She tells Jang-uk, with tears streaming down her cheeks, that she liked him more than he liked her, and as a result, she wants him to “turn the light back on” and think clearly again. Jang-uk is taken aback as she lets go of his hand and apologizes. Bu-yeon, as promised, returns to Jinyowon alone.

Jang-uk is taken aback as she lets go of his hand and apologizes. Bu-yeon, as promised, returns to Jinyowon alone. Jang-uk, with nothing else to do, prepares to become the General of the North Fortress, with plans to protect Daeho at all costs. He also informs the King that Bu-yeon will not be accompanying him.
Jang Uk’s departure date is approaching, but Naksu is unable to say goodbye and refuses to see him even when he comes to Jinyowon’s doors. When she returns, she finds him standing in her room and is forced to answer his questions, which reveal his despair as a result of her decision.
He leaves Jinyowon while Naksu cannot stop her tears from falling. He tells her that this time he will wait for her to miss and call him while he waits. The next day, he departs for the North fortress, and everyone wishes him well.
Jin Mu is ready to begin his plans after Jang Uk’s departure, and he begins to enlist the crown prince’s assistance in smuggling the earthenwares into Daeho. He then reveals that his true target is the firebird within Jinyowon, which he will soon control with the help of the Unanimous Assembly.
Soon after, Jin Mu confronts Jin Ho-kyung and informs her that someone else will be dancing for the lake rites because Jinyowon lacks a strong enough priestess. Ho-kyung finds this unbelievable and declares that if this occurs, Jinyowon will not provide any artifacts for the rites, but this only earns her Jin Mu’s snicker.
Ho-kyung then informs him that Jinyowon has a plaque that allows them to refuse the royal family’s order. However, Jin Mu informs her that the plaque will be confiscated soon because she has put Jinyowon in danger for personal reasons. The crown prince then appears and reveals that he witnessed this statement because broadening the firebird’s barrier did put them all in danger.
Meanwhile, the message to bring the plaque to Cheonbugwan has already been sent to Jinyowon; however, Naksu takes over Cho-responsibility yeon’s to bring it there. She quickly brings the plaque to Cheonbugwan and discovers what is going on there.
When she sees Jin Mu push Ho-kyung over the edge, she stands up and reminds him that Jinyowon still has a priestess strong enough to support them, but Jin Mu dismisses her and instead challenges her to prove herself. Naksu accepts this and is taken to Cheonbugwan, where wraiths are imprisoned.
Jin Mu informs her that she must retrieve the plaque from this location in order to demonstrate her divine abilities. Ho-kyung is concerned for her, but Naksu tells her to trust in her daughter’s divine powers, prompting her to realize that the person in front of her is Naksu.
Naksu then enters the magical prison and finds herself on the shore, surrounded by a forest. She is concerned about the size of the place, but she quickly begins her search for the plaque. However, she soon encounters a plaque and attempts to flee while subconsciously calling out for Jang Uk through the blue jade.
Jang Uk appears and rescues her from the wraith, but he soon notices that her eyes appear different and sees the blue mark that is etched in his memory shine in her eyes.
