Korean and Nigeria have been in a diplomatic relations and have bilateral relationships, projects and businesses in Nigeria to mention a few. There are also Korean companies about 20 Korean companies in Nigeria examples are Samsung, LG,Dae woo construction etc.
I want to talk about the ambassador of South Korea to Nigeria his name is KIM YOUNG CHAE. He has it in his interest to strengthen the relationship between South Korea and Nigeria, he has carried out different activities to develop the relationships of both Countries. He came into Nigeria as the ambassador in 2021 and has carried out different activities since then. He has also visited several states in Nigeria to promote the relationship between the 2 countries, to promote the economic and cultural activities and development.
Some of the states he has visited is
- Yola: ambassador Kim visited yola which Is the state that houses The humanitarian projects with the International organisation for migration South Korea donated $1.5 million to build IDP camps and training centres to mention a few
- Lagos: Ambassador Kim has visited Lagos this is because Lagos has the consular office has different Korean companies such as the Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Samsung heavy industries, KIA Motor, HONDA motor
- Ogun State : where he met the ex president of Nigeria
- Rivers and Bayelsa State: he visited Rivers states which has a korean company for over 40 years named the Daewoo constructions
